CANADIAN SEAL HUNT 2017: THOUSANDS OF BABY SEALS LOSE THEIR LIVES IN THE MOST HORRIFIC WAYS IMAGINABLE.
UPDATE 5/9/17: Sealers have murdered 78,490 seal pups since April 11, leaving a trail of blood and tears in their reign of terror. Tragic beyond words. There WILL be a day of reckoning.
UPDATE 4/24/17: Sealers have killed 52,675 baby seals since 4/11 and the killing continues. The agonizing death these newborns endured in their first months of life is tragic beyond words. This bloody massacre is propelled by politics and greed run by the Canadian government who subsidizes this atrocity for their pelts, which can fetch up to a mere $33 each. Is this the value we put on the murder of innocent beings for the sake of vanity? May their innocent souls rest in peace.

UPDATE 4/13/17: Canadian sealers have killed 16,000 Seal Pups in just 3 days. This annual massacre is a stain of shame on Canada. Please boycott Canadian seafood and tourism until this atrocity ends. These pups were just born in late February and killed in less than 2 months of life, before having eaten their first solid meal or a chance to swim in their ocean home. The agonizing death these newborn pups endured in their first months of life is tragic beyond words.

Beginning April 11, 2017, Canadian sealers are officially allowed to kill seal pups in their annual massacre, which they call a “hunt” which could not be farther from the truth. Make no mistake about it. This atrocity is not a hunt by any stretch of the imagination. It is a cold-blooded massacre of baby seals so young, they are still nursing and have not eaten their first solid meal, so young that they have not learned to swim to escape from “human” predators who have no regard for their life. Most are skinned alive.
Every year, the Canadian government subsidizes this massacre of seal pups, who are brutally slain in their own nursery. Over 95% of the pups murdered are 12 weeks to 3 months of age. The pups are hunted for their pelts, which can fetch up to a mere $33 each. Is this the value we put on the murder of innocent beings for the sake of vanity?
The market for seal pelts is almost nonexistent, yet the Canadian government continues to subsidize this atrocity. To date, 35 countries have instituted trade bans, including Russia—which was importing about 95 percent of Canadian seal skins. Undeterred, the Canadian government continues to waste taxpayer money for this despicable industry and is pursuing new markets in China.
In 2016, sealers killed over 66,000 harp seal pups and were filmed dragging live seals on to their boats, beating them and skinning them while fully conscious. Dragging seals who are not dead by hooks in their mouth is illegal, according to the regulations of this ‘hunt’ but the DFO (Department of Fisheries and Oceans) has not taken action against violators, despite the clear evidence presented to them.
The Canadian seal ‘hunt’ is the largest slaughter of marine mammals on the planet (with the exception of a few years in which the Namibian Cape fur seal massacre took more lives). Subsidized by the Canadian government, more than one million baby seals have been killed in the past few years.
The Namibian seal cull is equally as cruel. which slaughters 85,000 Cape fur seal pups every year (for their pelts) and 6,000 Cape fur seal bulls (for their genitals, considered aphrodisiacs in parts of Asia). Nursing Cape fur seal pups are separated from their mothers, rounded up on the Namibian beaches where they are born (which are considered seal ‘reserves’) and clubbed and stabbed by a dozen or a few dozen men. The sheer terror of the slaughter causes pups to vomit their mother’s milk in fear, causing panic among the seal colony, while seal mothers escape into the ocean, forced to abandon their newborn pups.
The agonizing death inflicted upon defenseless newborns is an atrocity and violation of the innocent at its core. We can do better as a society by awakening consciousness and elevating the soul of humanity. The time is NOW.

I have no words to describe how i feel after everything I have learned about what so-called “human beings” are capable of. I was like most who didn’t know what the hell was going on, but now that I do, watch out! No one will ever call me a human being again, I’d much rather be referred to as an ANIMAL because they so much deserve to breathe the air and walk on this planet as we do. I have actually made myself ill from all the things i have learned that I didn’t know. The dogs in Asia break my heart…
