Did You Know?

Millions of domestic animals are killed without mercy for the skin on their bodies so their fur can be made into products for the barbaric fur trade.  Unbeknownst to most, the majority of fur-trimmed items (even trinkets) labeled as “faux fur” or “synthetic” may be real fur… mostly from cats and dogs.

This shocking truth is very hard to take, but imagine your dog or cat taken from you, only to face a horrific death by the hands of soulless perpetrators.  These innocent animals watch their fellow cage mates as they are brutally killed in front of their innocent eyes, in utter terror knowing they will be next.

It is estimated that approximately 2 MILLION domestic cats and dogs are murdered in China for their fur every year.  Domestic animals are considered a ‘cheap source’ of fur because they are usually strays, stolen pets or used for food.  Subsequently, the fur is exported under false labeling to Western countries and used in the Chinese domestic market.  This largely unknown animal protection issue will be covered in the film and brought into the international spotlight.

Through the Director’s strategic partnership with ACTAsia for Animals, the film’s recent trailer focusing on the cat and dog fur trade, has made great strides throughout Asia with precedent-setting media coverage in China, the mecca of the fur farming industry.

The trailer was also screened at a press conference in Shenzhen, China, attended by the national media, and has already had a tremendous influence, with precedent-setting TV news coverage of the cat and dog fur trade at its epicenter, showing clips from the new movie trailer.  “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Rescue 07 in Wuhan, China

We cannot hope to make a difference through apathy.  Closing our eyes will only serve to empower this horrific industry.  As conscious consumers, our purchasing power is our strength in shutting this barbaric industry down.

We see the world piece by piece, as the sun, the moon, the animal, the tree; but the whole of which these are, the shining parts, is the soul.  -Ralph Waldo Emerson

  1. Love, love, love what you are doing! This has to stop, we must create consciousness! Thank you!

  2. “The animals of the world exist for their own reasons. They were no more made for humans than black people were made for white people or women were made for men.” – Alice Walker

  3. I am so glad for some awareness… it gives hope, but tell us please, is there more we can do? NEED TO HOLD HOPE… IT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FLAME TO CARRY. I hope so much that the voices of all speaking out is helping… I just can’t believe that a good chunk of the human species has become so cold… I JUST HOPE TO GOD THAT IT WON’T BE ON SOME SILENT DAY… ALL DEAD. IT IS A FOOL WHO CALLS ONLY HUMANS WORTHY OF HELP. I don’t know what the world is. I trust so many but then, even not mean people, turn heads away, worry about $—allow inhumanity to rise, rise, RISE… apathy takes over… if not stopped, oh… just let it be before a cold hard silence under a slate-hard sky tell us … we are too late.

  4. JE NE veux plus que des s animaux soit torturait massacrait pour rien stop merci

  5. Thank you so much for what you are doing… we have to open people’s eyes and consciousness…thank you, thank you so much for doing this…

  6. The more I see, the more sad and disgusted I am. It is absolutely cruel how this goes on. I cannot comprehend under any circumstance why people are so cruel, barbaric & murderers of these animals who are made sad in long drawn out pain, suffering & die barbarically, and to think they watch all this before their turn, not even cared for, fed & watered properly, transported properly, get no love & care & respect whatsoever, yet they make money off them. Absolutely makes you ashamed we are part of a nasty evil human race. It needs to be stopped and laws & punishments for this long overdue, inexcusable totally of the governments in these countries that it happens in.

  7. I don’t understand why anyone would want to wear fur. These people who buy and wear it need to go to the fur farms and see with their own eyes the abuse, torture and death these animals endure on a daily basis. It might spark some conscience within them and stop them from buying and wearing it again in the future. DON’T WEAR FUR. IT’S CRUEL, WICKED AND WRONG.

  8. Appreciate your every other great posting. Where by otherwise may any person get that type of facts in that great approach with composing?

  9. The appalling, unbelievable cruelty involved in China’s fur farms cannot be ignored. Each of us can make a difference, don’t wear fur, even ‘faux’ fur, become a supporter or activist… Believe one person can make a difference by informing others of the horrors being perpetrated in China’s fur farms, get signatures on anti-fur petitions, etc. Apathy won’t help these suffering animals, neither will ignoring it because you find these graphic images too upsetting. Forget your feelings and try to imagine how the hapless and helpless animals being brutalized, abused and often skinned alive feel. They urgently need our help.

  10. What are we? Are we really human beings? Did god make us like this? Did we come to earth to kill other living beings, to skin them alive to wear their skin for fashion to show how rich we are? How would we feel if we were skinned alive for someone else to use our skin? I wonder the monsters who are running this business, how can they sleep at night after hearing the cry of the innocent ones? How can they look in the mirror after seeing the helpless eyes of the voiceless? How can they eat their bread knowing that the money with which they bought the bread is by killing the ones who have never harmed them? There is a saying “when the bird is alive they eat ants, but when birds die ants eat them”… I believe in KARMA. The ones who are doing this barbaric act will also suffer equally. And I pray and wish that day comes soon.
